Welcome to the world of Lemonjello's
Our hope and end goal is for you to find a beverage that completes you. In a world of corporate coffee, we are still about character and atmosphere as much as coffee quality.
Our espresso creations are made using LaVazza espresso and syrups by 1883 and Monin. Lemonjello's brews and sells Fair-Trade whole bean coffee by Equal Exchange. Here's what we think: if you're going to drink coffee and have a chance to help some folks by doing so, why not? Fair trade means the farmers make more per pound by an elimination of middlemen in the buying process. Equal Exchange also works with the coffee-growing communities to set up co-ops and other programs to enhance the lives and surroundings of those in a typically poverty strewn industry. There is more info on our fair-trade page.
Lemonjello's specializes in making soymilk-based beverages and doesn't charge more for them. It may be one of the few places on earth where you can enjoy a vegan mocha. And how about the lemoncholy? It's a mocha with a fresh blended banana. Where have you seen that before? This isn't bragging. This is just us asking whatever happened to the creativity that once characterized baristas. We're constantly creating new drinks and serving quality drinks made by places like Jones Soda, Nantucket Nectars, Odwalla, Red Bull, Bawls, Oregon Chai, Caf Mat, and Jet Tea. Our baked goods are made fresh right here, except for bagels from The Good Earth around the corner and scones by Till Midnight.
...And then there's the atmosphere. Part of that is the conversations and relationships that form when folks meet for a chat. Part of it is the events we promote. The first Wednesday of every month we have open mic poetry at 8:30pm. Most Fridays there is live music by local, regional, and national artists who bridge a variety of musical styles. Now and then we'll throw in something random or host events by other organizations, too.
But really it's about this one word: enjoy!
